Career Tarot: 7 Cards That Signal a Promotion, Raise or Big Job Change

Career questions are different

Love tarot is about energy. Career tarot is about timing + action. When a client asks "should I take this offer?", I'm not asking the cards what fate has written — I'm asking what energy each path is sitting in, and which I should ride.

These are the 7 cards that show up most often in promotion / job-change spreads, and what each one is telling you.

1. Eight of Pentacles

Mastery. Heads-down craft. If this lands in your future position, the answer is: keep building skill. The promotion is real, but it's 4–6 months away — and you have one more skill to nail before it arrives.

2. Ace of Pentacles

A new offer or opportunity is materializing. Materializing is the operative word — it's not in your hands yet. Wait, but be ready to grab it.

3. The Chariot

Drive, willpower, taking the reins. If this shows up: you are about to step into a leadership chapter. Stop waiting to be picked.

4. King of Pentacles

Financial mastery + senior energy. Often shows up for clients who are about to become someone's boss — or someone's boss's boss. A real elevation.

5. Six of Wands

Public recognition. The promotion gets visible. Title, announcement, congratulations. It's coming.

6. Three of Wands

Expansion across distance — often a remote opportunity or relocation. If this lands, ask: am I open to moving (cities or roles)?

7. Wheel of Fortune

The cycle is turning. Whatever's been stuck is unsticking. Don't do anything dramatic in the next 30 days — let the wheel finish its rotation.

Cards I *don't* want to see

  • Five of Pentacles — You're undervaluing yourself. Don't accept the first number they offer.
  • Eight of Swords — You feel trapped, but you're not. The door is open. Look up.
  • Four of Cups — You're too checked out to see the opportunity that's right in front of you.

How to use this

If you're sitting on a career question right now — a counter-offer, a promotion you're unsure about, the decision to start your own thing — a focused 30-minute video reading is the cleanest format. Bring the specifics. We'll do a 7-card career spread, decode the energy of each path, and you'll leave knowing exactly what to do next week.
